Writers Group

Are you a reader of books or even a writer of fine literature? Maybe you aspire to be a writer, whether as an author of novels, poetry or articles. Perhaps you have connections within the publishing industry? Whatever your experience you may have a valuable contribution to make at the meetings of the La Souterraine Writing Group.

The writers’ group is open to any member of the la Souterraine English Library. Whether you’re a published author or not, anyone who is interested in writing is welcome. Our members range from people just starting out, to writers with years of experience. You don’t have to be a writer of fiction novels either, to join us. You may prefer poetry, blogging, non-fiction or writing plays for example.

We meet each month and try to have at least one subject on the agenda that we can either all learn from, or share our experiences about. The best way to develop your skills is to learn from each other, and that’s what we aim to do in our group. Topics can include, character creation to editing skills, promoting ourselves to planning a manuscript outline, plus everyone chips in to suggest new ideas for discussion for each meeting.

To join the Group, you would need to be a Library member.  Just pop into the Library and pay the equivalent of €2 a month.

If you’re interested in coming along, please contact David via the form below, so that we know that you’re popping in to see us.

We’ll be happy to meet you.

The group convenes from 10.00h until 12.30h on the last Thursday of each month at the library. Contact David Brown using the form below.

€4 is collected for use of the facilities, Coffee &  biscuit included.
