Camera Club

Our members form a friendly bunch who enjoy monthly gatherings in the Library Meeting Room at 14.00 on the second Tuesday.

At the end of each year, we arrange monthly projects for the following year and our efforts are viewed at each meeting.   We meet to view and discuss these images as we feel that chatting about each submitted photograph encourages improvement with regard to composition, impact and adherence to the monthly brief. The level of our skills range from novice to quite advanced both in terms of quality of photographs and use of camera.

We all agree that to help us improve our photography, we would each submit just three meaningful shots for each monthly project which gives more time to comment upon each image as well as encouraging the photographer to think about the shot in mind.

New members always welcome, to join the Group, you would need to be a Library member.  Just pop into the Library and pay the equivalent of €2 a month.

During each meeting as well as discussing the current project and accompanying images, we chat generally: decide when and where to have a day out with cameras; how to use our cameras; decide whether there are any exhibitions worth a visit; have a look at the work of professional photographers; look at the National Geographic and other photo competitions and any other bits and pieces that our members would like to mention.

€4 is collected for use of the facilities, Coffee &  biscuit included.
