Camera Club Photo Competition
“They” say that we’re all photographers these days. Certainly there are many more photographic devices, from film camera to smartphones, than ever before.
Throughout the summer you’ve probably been taking lots of photos. Places you’ve visited, people you’ve shared time with, lovely landscapes and seascapes you’ve seen will all have been captured on your favourite device. But what then? Do they simply stay on a hard disk somewhere, are they shared on Facebook, Instagram or some other social medium? Why not give yourself the opportunity to have your work more widely appreciated?
This year, the Library’s Camera Club is offering you the opportunity to become famous throughout the entire, well, Library! We will invite you to submit up to 3 photographs celebrating summer 2019. On receipt of your photos, we will choose a winner for each of three categories: Places; People and Animals; Land/Sea/Skyscapes. As well as winning a truly magnificent prize, the winners will have their winning entries displayed on the Library website for all to see.
There will be a small entry fee (funds raised will be for the benefit of the Library) and, just in case you’re wondering, Camera Club members are not eligible to take part.
Keep you eyes open, both for great photo opportunities, but also for further details of how and when to enter the competition.
If you are interested in joining the Camera Club or want to find out more, please contact Steve Chicken via the Library message centre or via the contact form on the Camera Club group page.
